Succulent mix made with the best amendments to grow and maintain healthy plants that are naturally water retentive/higher water holding capacity than other plants.  Succulents are the plant equivalent of a camel in some aspects is what I like to thick. 
So our mix is high in gritty amendments and  lower in organic matter which harms succulents.  Some of top shelf ingredients to achieve this includes micro leca, Diatomite, pumice, biochar, coco coir, worm castings , zeolite and decomposed granite.  
How do I know if my plant is a succulent?
  If the leaves of your houseplant are thicker that usually indicates they’re a type of succulent plant.  Those thicker leaves hold water and require certain parameters like high grit content and drainage.  If you have a plant with thick leaves, it will love this soil.
